Joe Greene, AIA
A Vermont native for sure, Joe created Joseph Architects in 2000. He directs all project activity for the firm and is integrally involved in all aspects of the project process from program development to construction administration. He has nearly thirty years and broad experience in diverse health care and commercial/light industrial project settings. Joe is a licensed architect in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York, and an active member of AIA Vermont, CSI, USGBC, and the ICC. Joe spent ten years on the Waterbury Planning Commission as Vice Chair and three years on the Waterbury Economic Development Committee. Committed to quality, integrity, creativity and unique design solutions, Joe’s primary goal is for each of the firm’s clients to receive the keys to their project and be thrilled with the results. Joe is a practical architect with a comprehensive technical background complemented by a light-hearted, creative side. His understanding of the regulatory process and the fundamental costs of construction adds incalculable value to his clients extremely early in a project’s life - often before the project is even a project. Joe married his high school sweetheart and for the past sixteen years they have made Waterbury their home with their two amazing sons.
A Vermonter through and through, Mark’s architectural career spans nearly four decades, and his consistent focus has been on technical production and developing his leadership capabilities. A graduate of Vermont Technical College, he received his architecture license in 1984. Mark really loves putting a great set of construction documents together, and serves as specifications writer, production document supervisor, code advisor, mentor and guide to the staff. Mark has worked with Joe for close to 20 years in a number of different firms, most notably since 2006 at Joseph Architects. His reliable skill and expertise has helped the firm immeasurably as it continues its steady growth. Some clients lovingly refer to him as “the voice of reason.”
A New Hampshire native, Seth’s background is in both fine art and architectural design. He received a BFA in Sculpture from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, and subsequently attended the Pratt Institute School of Architecture program. Seth has worked in both the arts and architecture in N.Y.C., Seattle, and Vermont. His refreshing style and approach is unique, intuitive, and reflects solid design and technical expertise. Seth’s work for architects, artists, historic preservationists, and commercial builders has earned him invaluable experience as a designer, project manager, carpenter, and within the arts. He currently serves on the City of Montpelier’s Development Review Committee, in an advisory role on matters concerning exterior alterations to land and properties in the Design Control District. Seth is the consummate perfectionist and his attention to detail is an unquantifiable asset to the firm’s clients; his insistence on obtaining the right solution is unparalleled. Seth’s house is in a constant state of renovation, and when he’s not working on that or spending time with his family, he paints, draws and restores motorcycles to become custom café racers.
